Feeding South Dakota is getting 53,000 pounds of pork loins donated from the Give a Helping Ham Program. Pipestone Systems of Minnesota is providing the pork loin and has donated more than 200,000 pounds of pork over the last four years. Feeding South Dakota CEO Matt Gassen says this year’s contribution will feed over 225,000 people.

Dr. Luke Minion of Pipestone Systems says the donation was a real team effort.

Gassen says getting protein to feed to those less fortunate is the toughest food item for them to acquire.

Gassen says those wanting to donate to Feeding South Dakota can go to their website, Feeding South Dakota.org.
