The budget proposal released by the Trump Administration would reduce funding to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, which has led to fears the Federal Prison Camp in Yankton could be on the cut list.

The federal prison camp was opened in 1989, on the former campus of Yankton College, which closed in 1984.
