The fate of a biotech labeling compromise bill in the Senate this week depends upon Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and getting enough votes for cloture. That’s according to Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley who would like to see the Senate pass the measure.
He says the chances for Senate passage of the biotech labeling bill are good. Most indications are the President would also support it, especially since Ranking Ag Committee member Debbie Stabenow does.
Grassley says the thing that could prevent the biotech labeling bill from moving in the Senate this week is if the Majority Leader determines there isn’t enough time to get it done.
