Fatal Accidents Reported in Charles Mix, Pennington Counties

One person died and another person was injured Saturday night in a one-vehicle crash southwest of Wagner.

Names of those involved are not being released pending notification of family members.

A 2002 Chevrolet Impala was westbound on 312th Street when it crossed the centerline, went off the roadway and eventually rolled.

One of the occupants, a 24-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupant, a 22-year-old male, suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital in Wagner.

Which one of the two occupants was the driver has not yet been verified. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.

A 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup was westbound on Old Hill City Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle near Lafferty Gulch Road. The pickup went off the roadway, struck a concrete culvert and rolled.

The 49-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant and was not wearing a seatbelt.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
