Farmers Union President Says New President Shares Views On Trade

The newly elected President Donald Trump shares much of the same view on trade as does one farm group. South Dakota Farmers Union President Doug Sombke says neither his group nor Trump are against trade itself but want to make sure those deals are properly negotiated and bring the best benefits for the United States.

Sombke is hoping the new President will hold other countries accountable with any trade deal.

During his campaign for President, Trump said he wants to repeal the North American Free Trade Agreement and renegotiate the Trans Pacific Partnership. Farmers Union has long been opposed to both of those pacts.
