The National Farmers Union is pleased President Obama signed the farm bill Friday. President Roger Johnson says he’s hoping USDA will quickly implement the legislation, especially the livestock disaster provisions that’s needed by producers hit by last October’s blizzard.
Johnson says the next implementation that’s needed is for crop insurance protection
Johnson says the price protections in the farm bill are the two most important provisions for producers and he’s pleased the livestock disaster component is a permanent part of the measure.
