Farmers Union Leader Says President And Congress Must Pass Pandemic Relief

Farmers Union is urging President Trump to reconsider his decision to refuse to consider pandemic relief until after the election. Minnesota Farmers Union President Gary Wertish says people whether they’re involved in agriculture or other businesses are hurting and need help now.

He says Congress also is to blame and needs to get over their bickering and politicizing and get a stimulus bill agreed to and approved.

Wertish says if they wait until after the election to provide pandemic relief, it’ll be too late for many farmers, ranchers or businesses to survive.

Wertish says many Americans are hungry, rural communities are struggling and the food chain is battered.
