The Farmers Union Enterprises made up of Upper Midwest Farmers Union organizations are donating $50,000 to help feed National Guard Troops protecting the nation’s capital following the January unrest at the Capital. Farmers Union Enterprise President Doug Sombke says their effort is to get home cooked meals to the soldiers guarding the nation’s capital.

He says the donation will make sure each National Guard member gets at least one home cooked type meal.

Sombke says by having all the farmers union groups come together they’re able to make this type of donation.

Anyone interested in donating to this effort can go online at the South Dakota Farmers Union Foundation website. Just go to sdfufoundation.org and click on Donate.
