Potential changes to Health Care was a prime worry for National Farmers Union members attending their convention in San Diego this week. NFU President Roger Johnson and his group’s members are urging caution with any changes to the Affordable Care Act. South Dakota Farmers Union President Doug Sombke says there’s a lot of concern in farm country about that.
He says health insurance costs are a big issue for farmers and ranchers.
Sombke says it’s a difficult problem to solve.
Sombke says a big part of the answer is to do what other countries are doing with their health care costs. He says they’re regulating the profits of their pharmaceutical industries and the U.S. needs to look at doing the same thing.
