Farmers who have not yet completed their 2019 and 2020 crop year elections for enrollment in the farm program need to get that done by today at their local Farm Service Agency office. South Dakota Corn Growers Association Executive Director Lisa Richardson says they can choose between Agriculture Risk Coverage or Price Loss Coverage programs.

She says there has been a change with the programs, so its critical producers make an appointment with their county Farm Service Agency to enroll by the end of the business day March 16.

Richardson says earlier their group held a webinar on the farm bill programs and that information is still available on their website at South Dakota Corn. She advises farmers to make an appointment, so they don’t lose eligibility for this important safety net opportunity.

More than 1.4 million contracts nationally have been signed for the 2019 crop year so far which represents 89 percent of expected enrollment.
