New Farm Bill requirements mandate producers file a form AD 1026 with their local Farm Service Agency Office. That indicates farmers are in compliance with their highly erodible land and wetland conservation projects. South Dakota Farm Service Agency Executive Director Craig Schaunaman says compliance is necessary in order for producers to be eligible for federal crop insurance. He advises they stop by their local FSA office.
Schaunaman says some producers who have already filed conservation information may be grandfathered in but it’s important to check with your local FSA office to ensure that compliance.
If producers have not filed their AD 1026 form, they have until June 1, 2015 to get that done.
