Farmers are looking for ways to better use precision agriculture to drive farm management decisions and increase profitability. Many are learning how to leverage the data from that system this week at the Farmer2Farmer Conference in Bettendorf, Iowa. It’s being hosted by the Farm Business Network and Director of Business Development Kelby Kleinsasser says farmers are looking at refining precision agriculture technology to give them an edge.
He says many farmers have collected data from yield monitors for years and then put it on a shelf. However, they’re taking that data, helping farmers make sense of it and putting into an aggregate to help them leverage that information.
Kleinsasser says leveraging data in this manner also helps drive better decisions in a depressed commodity market.
