Farmers Hear About 30 by 30 Land Acquisition Movement

On Monday evening approximately 200 farmers had gathered at Yankton to hear about a movement that has the goal to acquire 30 percent of the nation’s land by the federal government by the year 2030.  Known as the 30 by 30 plan, President Biden approved the program through an executive order shortly after entering office.  Margaret Byfield with the American Stewards of Liberty says many people are unaware the program is already happening.

Byfield says the acquisition of the private property is happening through existing conservation programs that have been re-written to accommodate the environmental groups that support the land acquisition.  She says the EPA’s actions of implementing far-reaching regulations on Waters of the United States, or WOTUS is a good example of how the government wants to control private land.
