Despite high input costs such as fuel, seed, and fertilizer and commodity prices dropping, farmers attitudes are still optimistic and according to one farm equipment dealer, farmers are interested in upgrading and purchasing new equipment. The Clay County Fair at Spencer, Iowa is know as having the largest display of farm equipment. A Case-IH dealer who wished not to be identified says supply chain issues continues to be a problem as farmers may need to wait several weeks or months for new equipment and parts. He says Case-IH would have wanted to have additional equipment on display during the Clay County Fair. The farm equipment dealer says those farmers that were fortunate to receive rains through the growing season are looking to upgrade their equipment needs. The farm equipment dealer says many farmers are getting anxious about the pending harvest and have had their combine harvester and other equipment at dealer’s shops getting ready. The Case-IH dealer says new tillage equipment was not able to be on display at the Clay County Fair since thy are still waiting for that equipment to come from the manufacturing factory.
