Stress levels for Farmers and Ranchers in the Northern Plains who usually battle those are seeing increased levels this year due to the Drought. North Dakota State University Extension Farm Science Specialist Sean Brotherson says besides the drought, low commodity prices over the last few years and weather overall have been big contributors to that stress.

He says when stress is prevalent for long periods of time, managing that can be a difficult challenge.

Brotherson says it’s important for farmers and rancher’s family members and friends to watch for those signs of stress.

Brotherson says when times are challenging like they are this year with the drought, managing ones health becomes very important.
