There is a November 1st deadline for beginning farmers and current landowners to apply for a tax credit. Matt McDevitt with the Minnesota Department of Ag says the credit is not just a benefit for farmers starting out, but also an incentive for current asset holders to branch out.

McDevitt says once the transaction is set it takes between 10 and 15 minutes for both parties to fill out an application. More info is available on the Minnesota department of Ag website.
