Thursday, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue announced the next round of Market Facilitation Program payments in each county which will vary from a range of $15 to $150. Iowa Soybean Board Director and farmer Randy Miller says the payments are appreciated.
National Farmers Union President Roger Johnson says while this MFP is beneficial, there should have been more thought and planning as to the amounts and how they’re figured.
Johnson says had the MFP been better planned and more public input, the funding could have gone further to help those who need it the most.
Sign up for this MFP program starts Monday July 29 and runs through December 6.
