The farmer of the future must be nimble and listen to consumer demands and trends.  That’s the advice Lucas Lentsch with Dairy Management Inc. shared with farmers at the Agrivisions 2022 Ag Conference in Yankton, South Dakota.  He says how farmers deal with the continued volatility in the marketplace will determine who succeeds.

He says the pandemic and supply chain disruptions have caused consumers to experience empty grocery store shelves for the first time in their lives.  That has changed how they shop and increased their desire to know who is producing their food.

Lentsch says even through the pandemic the sustainability conversation has ramped up among consumers and the agriculture industry.

He says the sustainability push will continue to change how food is produced and how companies do business.
