The American Farm Bureau and the National Farmers Union have launched a new campaign to address the growing problem of opioid abuse in rural America. It’s called Farm Town Strong. Farm Bureau Director of Policy Communications Will Rodger says the campaign came about because 74 percent of farmers and ranchers are either addicted to opioids or know someone who is.
He says Farm Town Strong provides resources for those in rural America who need help battling opioid addiction.
Rodger says leaders of both groups will be leading a discussion on overcoming the opioid crisis at the Farm Bureau annual convention in Nashville on Monday January 8.
Rodger says for more information or resource help you can log onto Farm Town Strong.org.
