The U.S. government has re-opened until February 15 when the current funding runs out. Farm Service Agency offices had a head start as some re-opened earlier to provide essential services. Minnesota State Farm Service Agency Executive Director Joe Martin says all FSA offices are now fully operating and providing all their normal services to farmers and ranchers.
He says while their workers have been busy catching up, they’re happy to be back on the job.
Martin says their national office is now working on implementation of the new farm bill.
Martin says county FSA offices are extra busy with the backlog, so it is advisable to call ahead to set up an appointment.
