Farm Policy Facts Coalition Challenging EWG Report

A newly formed farm coalition is challenging a recent report issued by the Environmental Working Group. The EWG report titled the Rich Get Richer claims 50 billionaires are getting federal farm subsidies. The Farm Policy Facts group says the title is sensationalistic and the information in their report was dated stopping in 2007. Minnesota Corn Grower’s Policy Director Anna Boroff says their coalition is trying to set the record straight.

She says the Farm Policy Facts group will battle reports like these and has put out a website so people can access the correct information.

Boroff says it’s important for Minnesota Corn Growers and other ag groups to form coalitions like these in order to get their message out.

The Farm Policy Facts group says the EWG is guilty of putting out multiple reports trying to discredit the farm safety net program.
