The Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee of USDA and USTR meets Friday to look at current and new trade deals. Nebraska Farm Bureau Director of National Affairs Jordan Dux says there are several things the committee should be looking at and the major thing lacking from the Biden administration is a Set Trade Agenda.

He says there are several other trade issues that need to be dealt with and he’s hoping the committee and administration will follow through on those including having a permanent trade deal with China and expanding other trade pacts.

Dux says two other things that must be done in order to advance those market opportunities includes getting reauthorization of Trade Promotion Authority and getting WTO issues resolved.

The Ag Advisory Committee members represent U.S. food and agriculture groups and major agribusinesses including the American Farm Bureau, National Corn Grower’s Association, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Corteva, ADM and others.
