Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minster says his country is interested in joining the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal but needs to study the terms and conditions first. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott Vanderwal says having Thailand join the TPP could be positive.
Thailand has globally competitive industries in agriculture, cars, electronics, health care services and tourism. Vanderwal says having Thailand could lead to good trade between them, the U.S. and other TPP countries
The current TPP negotiations need to be completed before the current members could consider letting additional nations join the trade deal.
