Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue is supporting President Trump’s tax reform agenda. He says the President’s tax reform package will be beneficial to agriculture and help improve rural profitability. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal agrees with the Secretary and says it’s good to keep tax reform out in front of legislators for possible movement.

He says he’s confident details about the President’s tax reform plan will be revealed soon.

Ag Secretary Perdue said that farms are small businesses and that time and costs associated with merely complying with the tax code are impeding American prosperity. VanderWal agrees.

Both VanderWal and Secretary Perdue agree that part of the overall tax reform should include elimination of the estate tax.
