Agriculture and business groups including the American Farm Bureau want the new administration to reconsider the Trans Pacific Partnership. They believe the President could make changes in the deal, revamp and possibly rename it, which might help boost U.S. exports to Asia. Nebraska Farm Bureau National Affairs Coordinator Jordan Dux says they’re willing to work with the President on any advancement of trade deals.
He says even bilateral deals that President Trump seems to be open to could be helpful for getting more market access for U.S. ag commodities.
Dux says they’re also looking forward to working with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer on trade.
The American Farm Bureau, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Business Round table are among the groups asking for the reconsideration of TPP.
