Farm Groups Want Answers on WOTUS

A total of 14 farm groups are asking the EPA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to make public answers to questions regarding their Waters of the U.S. rule. One of those groups is the National Corn Growers Association. Board member and South Dakota Corn Growers President Keith Alverson says the agencies need to release that information so everyone is on the same page with the rule.

He says if the EPA and the Corps keeps that information from farmers and ranchers it just creates more confusion over WOTUS.

Alverson says the ag groups would rather work with the federal agencies than have to pressure Congress to release the information.

Alverson says its critical the agencies provide clarity and certainty to farmers so they know how to comply with the rule once its finalized and implemented across the country.
