The Nebraska Farm Bureau has given $100,000 to help launch a petition drive aimed at achieving major property tax savings. Farm Bureau Government Relations Director Ansley Mick says the money goes to the Yes to Property Tax Relief organization. She says the petition drive is in addition to their efforts to convince State Senators to pass property tax relief legislation.

She says the petition measure calls for a refundable income tax credit equal to 50 percent of the property taxes Nebraskans pay to schools.

Mick says there are also several pieces of property tax legislation they continue to support as the session moves along.

Also providing funding to the Yes to Property Tax Relief petition drive are the Nebraska Pork Producers, Corn Growers and Soybean Association, as well as the Nebraska State Dairy Association.
