Two Midwestern state ag directors have been nominated as Undersecretary’s at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Both Iowa’s Bill Northey and Nebraska’s Greg Ibach have been picked by President Trump for those posts and are awaiting Senate confirmation. Nebraska Cattlemen Association President Troy Stowater says Ibach is a good fit for Undersecretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs.

Stowater says both Ibach and Northey are good selections and he’s hoping for quick Senate approval.

American Soybean Association President Ron Moore supports both Northey and Ibach for the jobs at USDA. He says Northey will do a great job as Undersecretary for Farm Production and Conservation if he’s confirmed.

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is hoping the Senate will take up the confirmations the week of September 19.
