Last week, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton signed the bonding bill. Many of the state’s ag groups were worried he might veto the measure. State Farm Bureau Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser says the bonding legislation contains many components important for agriculture including funding for infrastructure and the Rural Finance Authority.

She says the bonding bill is strong legislation that will help provide funding for upkeep and maintenance of rural roads and bridges.

Glaeser says while the bonding bill was a win for the states farmers and ranchers, her group was disappointed in the veto of the tax bill. She says they’ll be working with legislators next session and the new Governor following this falls elections.

Glaeser says the other measure they’ll hope to gain traction on next session will an ag policy bill.
