Farm groups are already starting to gear up for the 2023 Farm Bill debate. National Grain and Feed Association President and CEO Michael Seyfert says they are in the process of gathering input from their stakeholders.
He believes there will be added emphasis on climate smart agriculture and conservation in the new farm bill, and they will continue to promote working lands conservation programs.
Seyfert says they are opposed to idling land as is being proposed by the Biden Administration’s 30 x 30 program.
He says the farm safety net and crop insurance will still be the focal point of the new farm legislation.
