The South Dakota 2015 legislative session is winding down and the State Farmers Union is hailing recent passage of the drainage basin districts bill, SB 2. Farmers Union Legislative Director Matt Sibley says that measure is one of their priorities and they’re happy it’s moving forward to a state House Senate Conference committee.
Sibley says the other measure his group is monitoring is SB 1, the transportation funding bill which has seen some changes since it was originally proposed.
Sibley says the other change to SB 1 calls for increasing the speed limit on Interstate Highways in South Dakota to 80 miles per hour.
