Fifty House GOP members have formed the Conservative Climate Caucus. Utah Congressman John Curtis chairs the group. He says they care about the climate and want to reduce emissions through innovation and resources while not hurting the economy. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal says his group’s shares those goals.
He says whatever climate solutions policies move forward must be based on common sense.
VanderWal says any climate policies that are adopted must have a cost benefit analysis tied to those.
The Climate Caucus members say that fossil fuels can and should be a major part of the global solution with reducing emissions the goal, not reducing energy choices.
