Tuesday, Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer was appointed to the Senate Agriculture Committee. Nebraska Farmers Union President John Hansen welcomes the appointment and says having Fischer on that panel will help Nebraska’s farmers and ranchers.

He says it will be valuable having Fischer serve on that committee given her agricultural background and experience.

Hansen hopes Fischer will help the Committee craft a solid farm bill that will meet the various commodity group’s needs.

Hansen says it’s good to have Nebraska represented on the committee with someone with Fischer’s past experience including in the overall U.S. Senate and the Nebraska State Legislature.
