This week the House Ways and Means Committee passed the GOP Tax Reform legislation. The Senate is expected to come up with their own plan. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal is pleased lawmakers are moving ahead with the needed reform. He says the House tax reform plan fits his group’s policy.
He says it’s important whatever tax reform measure is passed brings down effective tax rates.
VanderWal says the tax code needs simplification and House and Senate member both seem committed to getting that done.
VanderWal encourages his group’s members and others to weigh in with Congress and tell them to make sure stepped up basis is included in the final tax legislation.
