Farm Group Pleased With Budget Approval

Nebraska Farm Bureau leaders are pleased with Congressional passage of the omnibus spending package. National Affairs Coordinator Jordan Dux says besides moving a budget forward and avoiding a government shutdown, lawmakers took the first step in eliminating EPA’s Waters of the U.S. proposal. He says getting rid of the interpretive rule contained in the bill is that first important step.
Dux says his group will work with the new Congress in pushing ahead early next year to try and get WOTUS completely thrown out.
Dux says the other key provision in the budget bill prevents the Ag Secretary from moving forward with a second beef check off program and his group is pleased with that as well.
