Farm Group Leader Wants Agriculture Represented On Coronavirus Task Force

A California Congressman has written to the Trump administration asking that an ag expert be added to the White House’s Coronavirus Task Force. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal says that makes sense and would like to see that happen.

He says the Covid 19 pandemic has had a negative effect on commodity markets which is hurting producers.

VanderWal says the pandemic has also added worries to farmers and ranchers who have already been under stress due to the economic downturn.

VanderWal says the Trump administration has done a good job in helping agriculture by making sure goods can flow to markets and also lessening ag labor restrictions to keep seasonal workers on the job.
