The last couple of weeks U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai has been busy talking with U.S. trade partners, specifically China and the European Union about moving ahead with solid and equitable trade. Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Director of National Affairs Jordan Dux says it’s encouraging there’s been more talks with China on following through with their Phase one trade deal with the United States.

Tai also has been meeting with both an Italian representative another member of he European Commission. Dux says it’s important the U.S. move ahead with crafting a deal with the E.U. although it will be challenging for agriculture.

Dux says the other trade pacts that must go forward is the U.S .with the United Kingdom and re engaging with the TPP countries into the CPTPP deal.

Dux says it’s also positive that the US Trade Ambassador has also gone to Switzerland to meet with WTO officials.
