Farm Group Concerned About New Regulations From Administration

The Obama administration is preparing at least five environmental regulations to issue within the next two months. That’s concerning to the Nebraska Farm Bureau. National Affairs Coordinator Jordan Dux says over the past eight years the administration has pushed forward several large scale rules and this expected addition of even more is very concerning.

He says some of the new rules are likely to include water use, pesticides and clean air.

Dux says what most of their members are unhappy about with the regulations are that they tend to come from non elected officials who aren’t accountable to the public for their actions.

Some of the other regulations the Obama administration is considering include: governing of renewable energy development on federal lands, an offshore oil and gas leasing plan, methane standards for oil and gas wells on public lands and a stream protection rule for coal mining.
