Farm Group Adopts Policies On Trade And Buffer Zone

Opposing the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement is contained in a major special order of business adopted by Minnesota Farmers Union members at their recent convention. President Doug Peterson says there are several problems with the trade deal.

Peterson says another special order of business his group’s members adopted has to do with concerns over the recent buffer zone rule approved by the Minnesota legislature and advocated by the Governor.

He says their delegates passed a special order of business opposing the Waters of the U.S. rule because they already have a more stringent state rule covering that.

Peterson says their members also adopted a special order of business calling for support of a voluntary Country of Origin Labeling rule.
