Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has called the state legislature back into special session for a fifth time this year. State Farm Bureau Associate Public Policy Director Josie Lonetti says state lawmakers have a bonding bill ready and her group hopes they get it passed during the special session that is being held today.

She says the most critical part of the bonding bill is making sure the Section 179 tax break is conformed with the federal level.

Lonetti says farmers and ranchers need the certainty that Section 179 conformity would bring. She says it must be done prior to the election.

Lonetti says Farm Bureau’s top priority is making sure lawmakers approve the bonding bill and that the Section 179 conformity is contained in it.
