The American Farm Bureau Federation Thanksgiving Market Basket Survey shows consumers are getting a real bargain for their holiday meal. Dave Miller, Director of Research and Commodity Services for the Iowa Farm Bureau says the cost is just under 5 dollars a serving for a family of 10.
He says turkey prices are down, 30 cents for the whole bird and the wholesale price is a dollar and a half lower than a year ago.
Miller says pumpkin prices are also lower than last year while the cost of sweet potatoes is up.
This year is the 31st year for the Farm Bureau’s Thanksgiving Market Basket Survey.
