Minnesota Congressman Colin Peterson has joined Virginia Representative Bob Goodlatte in reintroducing the Administrative procedures Act. The aim of the measure is to provide for a transparent, fair and open regulatory process. Minnesota Farm Bureau President Kevin Paap says his group backs the bill. He says the legislation provides for proper Congressional oversight.
Paap says the bill also keeps federal agencies from doing an end run around Congress to push rules forward.
Under the proposed legislation the most costly rules would be subject to on record hearings.
