The American Farm Bureau reports that farm bankruptcy filings in the year through June are up 13 percent from 2018. Nebraska Farm Bureau Senior Economist Jay Rempe says those filings nationally are not surprising but that Nebraska’s aren’t quite as severe.
He says several factors have led to the hike in bankruptcy filings.
Rempe says the loan delinquency rates are starting to edge up.
Rempe says while the bankruptcies and loan delinquency rates are concerning, at least they’re not at the tough levels seen in the 1980s..
