Farm Bureau Priorities Are Trade And WOTUS Repeal

The race is on in Congress to get anything meaningful accomplished with the presidential campaign season gearing up this fall. American Farm Bureau Director of Public Policy Mary Kay Thatcher says priority issues for agriculture will be tough to get passed as the Senate is still not veto proof with only 56 Republicans.
She says there is also added pressure due to the long laundry list of budget issues that will face the Congress.

Thatcher says they’ll continue to concentrate on regulatory challenges from the Obama administration in 2015 and one of their priorities will be to end the proposed Waters of the U.S. Rule. Their goal is to get legislation passed in Congress to stop it.
