Every July, Presidents of the 50 state Farm Bureaus along with Puerto Rico’s Farm Bureau President hold their council of President’s meeting in Washington D..C. This year due to the pandemic the meeting was held virtually. Minnesota Farm Bureau President Kevin Paap says they discussed half a dozen issues that all of their leaders are concerned about from trade to regulation to economic impacts to agriculture from the pandemic.

He says the farm group leaders are keeping on eye on Congress and what they come up with with the next Coronavirus Food Assistance Package. Paap says that’s expected in early August.

Paap says the Farm Bureau Presidents all back the Trump Administration’s Navigable Waters Protection Rule that replaced WOTUS.

Paap says they intend to join efforts to defend that rule against the court challenges being brought by environmental activist groups.
