Nebraska Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson has been chosen to serve on Governor Pete Rickett’s newly formed International Trade Council. Agricultural, Business and Education groups are all represented on the panel. Nelson says one of the major goals of the council is to increase relationships with Nebraska’s global customers.
He says having all three entities represented on the Council is a good way to expand the state’s reach into international markets that generate billions of dollars annually.
Nelson says one of the first priorities for the Council is pushing ahead with a bilateral trade deal with Japan.
Govenor Ricketts says council members will use their existing relationships to help other Nebraska groups that want to expand overseas.
