The House approval Thursday of the USMCA trade agreement is a good first step and will hopefully lead to subsequent passage in the Senate. That’s according to South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal who says it’s positive the two sides on USMCA finally came to agreement.
He says USMCA is a critical deal for South Dakota’s farmers and ranchers as well as for producers across the U.S..
VanderWal says once USMCA is finalized in the Senate and signed by the President it will help with getting a final agreement solidified with China building on that Phase one deal.
VanderWal and other ag group leaders expect quick passage of USMCA in the Senate.
