Tuesday’s Presidential Election results mean positives for agriculture in the area of lessening federal regulations and appointment of Supreme Court Justices. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal says President Trump has already promised he’d repeal the Waters of the U.S. Rule put forward by the EPA and the Corps of Engineers.
He says had WOTUS been allowed to go into effect it would have placed so many restrictions on agriculture the effects would have been devastating.
VanderWal says he expects good appointments coming from the Trump administration for Supreme Court Justices which will have a big impact on agriculture.
VanderWal adds that his group hopes to work with President Trump to help him understand how important an immigrant workforce is for agriculture and try to change his views on the immigration issue.
