Now that the Iowa 2020 legislative session is history, the Iowa Farm Bureau is congratulating lawmakers for approving a balanced budget despite the pressures of the pandemic on the agriculture and overall economies. Iowa Farm Bureau President Craig Hill says legislators should be credited with dealing with a very difficult year of challenges.

He says his group is pleased state lawmakers did not raise property taxes and kept various tax credits in place.

Hill says they’ll be working next session for further property tax reform.

Hill says other state legislative victories included continued funding for water quality and conservation programs and inclusion of a program to help address the shortage of veterinarians in Iowa.
