Tax Relief measures signed into law this week by Governor Dave Heineman will be helpful for the state’s farmers and ranchers. That’s according to Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Vice President of Government Relations Jay Rempe. He says one of the most beneficial pieces of legislation was the exemption of the sales tax on ag machinery repair parts.

Rempe says there was significant progress on property tax relief with the signing of a measure putting more money into the tax credit program.

He says they’ll work for additional property tax relief next session.

Rempe says farmers and ranchers will also benefit from the measure signed by the Governor that indexes to ensure tax brackets keep pace with inflation.
